Terms of Service

These are the terms for using Judgy — the website at judgysays.com, the Chrome extension, and the mobile app. They're written in plain language on purpose. By using Judgy you agree to them.

What Judgy is

Judgy produces an automated 1–10 rating and a written explanation for web pages you ask it to look at, and lets you post your own ratings, reviews, and shelves. Judgy's scores are opinions generated by software. They are not facts, professional advice, or a guarantee about any product, publication, or person, and they can be wrong. Decide for yourself.

Your account

You need an account to rate, review, shelve, follow, or comment. You're responsible for what happens under your account. Usernames are first-come; you can change yours once. You can delete your account at any time from Settings, which removes your profile, ratings, reviews, comments, and shelf.

Your content

Reviews, comments, shelf notes, and your profile are yours. By posting them you give Judgy permission to store them and show them on Judgy (the site, extension, app, and share links) so the service works — that's the whole license. Delete a post and it's gone from Judgy. Don't post things you don't have the right to post.

Acceptable use

Don't use Judgy to harass, threaten, or impersonate people; to post spam, malware, or unlawful content; to scrape or overload the service; or to try to manipulate scores (for example by running many accounts). Blocking and reporting exist for a reason — use them. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.

Limits and paid plans

Fresh judgments cost money to produce, so there is a daily limit on the free plan. Cached verdicts don't count against it. If a paid plan is offered, its price and limits are shown before you buy, and you can cancel from the billing portal at any time.

Pages you send to Judgy

When you ask Judgy to rate a page, the content of that page is sent to our model provider to produce the score, and the verdict is stored so nobody pays for the same judgment twice. Details are in the privacy page. Verdict pages are public and link back to the original.

No warranty

Judgy is provided as-is. We work to keep it accurate and available, but we don't promise it will be, and we're not liable for decisions you make based on a score. Where the law doesn't allow a limitation like this, it doesn't apply.

Changes

If these terms change in a way that matters, the date above changes and we'll say so on the site. Continuing to use Judgy after that means you accept the new terms.
